Sunday night featured the season finales for both The Simpsons and Family Guy. Each chose to parody two well-known pieces of work. For the residents of Springfield, they chose to take on fellow Fox show 24 in their episode, 24 Minutes. Located deep within Springfield elementary is CTU, Counter Truancy Unit. If you squint hard, you might see Lisa as Chloe, Bart as Jack, Principal Skinner as director of CTU, various nerds as CTU operatives, and the bullies as the terrorists. It was extremely well-done, down to the requisite mole in CTU.
Last but certainly not least is Family Guy with their Meet the Quagmires finale. Peter and Brian go back in time only to find they've changed the future by disrupting something in the past. It's a plot straight of the Back to the Future. In one of the last scenes, it's almost a shot by shot redo of the Enchanment Under the Sea dance. The clip above shows a bit of that. Seth sure sounds like Rick Astley!
