In this last comparison of images, there's an obvious difference in quality. These caps were taken from a scene where there were a lot of fast moving images with quick cuts. The bootleg shows horrendous pixelization. This is indicative of a problem with the bit-rate when the movie was transferred over from film. Whoever did the conversion did not budget a high enough bit-rate for this scene. There was too much going on in the scene and the MPEG-2 encoding did not have enough information to prevent the boxy pixels from showing up. This makes me wonder whether or not the pirates (ahoy matey!), had access to a film master and did the DVD authoring themselves. In any case, here's one example of "you get what you pay for".

Next, I'll comment on the sound quality and conclude things.
