Well, where do I start? I was born in 1974
to first-time parents Anita and Stanley Tang. At the time, they
were a fun-lovin' couple that lived in a one-room apartment on
Beach Avenue in Vancouver. If you know my parents now, you'll
find those two facts hard to believe. I still can't believe my
parents at one time lived downtown, let alone on Beach Ave. Second,
it's very hard to think of my parents as fun-lovin'. Oh well,
maybe that's what happens to you when you have children. As you
can see on the left, my mom said I was a bit chubby when I was
a baby. |
In my baby years, my
parents did a decent job of raising me. As you can see in the
pic to the right, they bought me toys and a walking implement.
And what a better way to learn walking than on orange shag carpeting?
They also managed to keep all my toes and fingers intact. Alas,
the once perfectly sized one room apartment was becoming too
crowded with walkers, swings, bottles, and one crazy baby! My
parents decided to move to a two bedroom apartment in East Vancouver.
At the time, if I had understood where we were moving to, I would
have freaked out. Instead, I think I may have pooped in my diaper
on moving day. |
